Will there ever be a free-roam game in the same sort of format of gameplay like NFS World? If so, what would the map be (New map or older maps put together)?ģ. Before Need for Speed: World shut down for good, what were the intentions (if there were any) for expansions to the map as Rockport Turnpike just closes off after a row of toll booths?Ģ. I have a few questions related to these and I am wondering if its possible if I could get an official person from EA to answer:ġ. Specifically, Need for Speed: World and any upcoming games. I'm here for a few reasons unrelated to any games listed on this website. In fact the fans only kick in at the lowest speed (I forgot to check the cpu temps) and the frame rates were still in the high 50's.Hello hopefully someone at either EA or Ghost (Or anyone else)! No wonder why it would go into thermal shutdown after 10 minutes or so of actually playing the game.Īfter optimising the game with the 'cool thermals' profile in the Alienware command centre - I have no problems. I found that when I started the game I saw temps for the CPU jump from 48 degrees to 100 degrees in less than a minute and while leaving the game running in the menu temps stayed around 98 degrees and 100 degrees. I am happy to announce I played the game for about 2 hours last night with no problems at all :)īefore making these changes I used the Alienware command centre to find out CPU temps when playing the game. After manually adding the game to the command centre and setting a system profile to "thermals cool". So I opened up the Alienware command centre and found that it had not automatically recognised Heat as game and so there were no system optimisation set when playing the game. I wasn't going to attempt something like this not know what I am doing haha. Their solution was uninstalled and re-install Dells software to reset the windows power management settings and the reset the balanced profile to default. However after doing some research last night, I came across someone who had the same problem and mentioned something similar to your comment CursedPanther, they too have the DELL G3 3500 laptop and found that when running a game it runs the CPU and GPU run at 100% regardless of the Dell and windows power managent profiles set. I was sure there was no issue with the specification of my laptop with an I7 10750 running at 4.4ghz and the Nvidia 2060 RTX graphics card. Thanks all for your input, it is very much appreciated and has helped a lot!! I've been doing research and I can see other people have the same issue but no solutions. therefore I thought it might be an issue with the game. I don't understand why it struggles to handle NFS Heat. My reasoning is if the laptop is able to play games that are similar/more graphically demanding than NFS Heat with cool temps and play hours on end no problems. if not is more graphically demanding than NFS Heat. I am not too sure why it does this, temps on graphics card seem to be around 79 degrees, however the CPU was at 100% but I don't have a temperature reading for this.Īlso my reference to Dirt 2.0 is relevant as the game has similar spec requirements to NFS Heat. I will be playing the game between 10-30 minutes and all of a sudden a blue screen appears and the laptop shuts of immediately. However by the term 'thermal shutdown' I am referring to when one or more components start to overheat and therefore to prevent damage to the component the laptop automatically shuts down or locks. I am not technically minded so forgive my lack of knowledge and terminology. Thanks for your response, the game runs really smooth actually, but only plays for about 10 minutes or so before thermal shutdown kicks in.
